About Madflies2020

Who is "Mad" behind "Madflies2020"? Well, my real name is Fredrik and I am born and raised in Mörrum, Sweden.
At the age of 13 I was walking with a friend along the river in Mörrum when he was selling flies to the fishermen. And as a smart teenager, I saw a chance to make some money here.
My friend teached me the basic techniques of fly tying, and I borrowed SEK 500,00 from my father and bought the equipment I needed to start tying. I made flies that sold with great success at the first attempt along the river and I realised, that I got a talent for tying flies.
In 1986 I started fishing in Mörrums river myself. For several years I fished and tied flies.
I worked professionally for some years tying flies for a living in a shop with fishing gear in Mörrum.
In springtime 2020 my partner encouraged me to start tying again and Madflies2020 was born. 

Since 2020 I have build a webbshop that sells materials for salmon and trout flies but also for coast flies. I tie quality flies every day and has made my dream, of making Madflies2020 to my full-time job, come true.

I realised how difficult it was to get really good quality material on the market for my tying, so very quick, I decided to make quality material and sell it, to make it easier for everyone to tie flies.  I handpick, dye and prepare all Fox, Silverfox and a lot of the capes myself. 

Since 2023 I have opened a small shop in Mörrum in my cellar where you are more than welcome to come and shop and get advice for your tying.
